Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown Get Crabs

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown showing up at a Joe's Crab Shack in Georgia, apparently high as Hell.

Man, it's a long hard fall from the biggest selling musical artist of her generation to a mom who gets stoned and shows up to eat at the "Chili's of seafood."

Is Joe's one of those places that cuts your tie off if you show up with one? I'd love to see them try that with Bobby B, he'd bust somebody in the eye. That's his prerogative.

Reid: As Seen On TV!

After much thought and deliberation, I'm going back to television.

At the end of the month, I'll be leaving my job at The University of Texas at Tyler and returning to KLTV Channel 7 in Tyler, where I'll be a sportscaster.

I worked there before as a reporter and a sportscaster from 2002-2005. I had some fun, I was on Larry King Live, I won some AP awards, and I did a lot of stories that got a lot of laughs.

"But Reid," some of you are saying, "you didn't like TV. You made fun of the medium, and didn't take it seriously."

Exactly. Should be fun, eh?

I'll be on the air Monday night, for those of you in East Texas. KLTV does stream some of their news and sports online, so I'll let you guys know when you can catch me. Kind words and honest opinions are always appreciated.

I promise you, it won't be anything like you're used to. If you're not a sports fan, I hope to be your favorite sportscaster.

More bulletins as events warrant. No trivia today, I'm way overworked. The Trivial Snippets will return next week, and tomorrow I'll have the answers from the previous trivia snippets.

By the way, I'm as glad as the next guy who owns every pre-1987 Van Halen album that the original band has gotten back together. Especially since this get-together has already outlasted the previous record for a David Lee Roth-Van Halen reunion, which was forty-five minutes.

However, I'm a bit worried about David Lee Roth's well-being. He does look better now than before, but he appears to have had so much plastic surgery, he doesn't have enough skin left on his face to close his mouth when he smiles.

Check out these pictures from the reunion tour press conference. Dave is open-mouthed and smiling like a goon in every single one of them. He's smiling like some kind of carnival game, where the first person to fill up his mouth with a water pistol gets a stuffed animal of some sort.

Great. There goes another name I was going to use for my adult movie career. The Steelers already used up my first choice, "Fast Willie Parker."

Trivial Mondays Deferred

As I mentioned last week, there will be no trivia this week. Trivial Mondays will return next week with better questions and chances for you to win in the first ever "Help Reid Clean Out His House" contest.

That'll be coming up on next Monday, so check back then for the good stuff.

I'm still a bit shaken up from the weekend. Friday night, I went to my favorite Chinese restaurant, and they were having a wedding reception dinner for forty. However, the place only seats forty-three, so I'm still trying to recover.

I'm also being treated for a "Big Brother" addiction, so I'll let you know how that goes. I'll be back tomorrow.

Gravity: Law & Order

I would have to say the sports of the X-Games are my favorite way of watching people kill themselves. Man, I love that stuff. I rarely post YouTube links here, but this was spectacular enough to show everybody. Watch the video, and see what happens.



Just amazing. Even before the big bad thing that happens, look what this guy does. I can't imagine throwing myself off of a flat mountain standing on a small wheeled board, but I wish I could. That is the closest that man will ever get to being the Silver Surfer.

I love the X-Games, for one simple reason. I can't do those things. I grew up playing sports like football and basketball, and I understand how to do them.

I don't understand how to do what this guy did. I don't even know how to start. It seems that the first step is a doozy.

The Bathroom Wall

It's been a long day at work. I'm employed by a college, and I spent part of today over at the dorms correcting the spelling on the bathroom wall graffiti. Here's a hint, guys, "pussy" has two "s"'s.

Ladies, if you've never seen the men's room, you might just want to take a field trip there once or twice. It may just change your opinion on a few things, like lesbianism as a viable option.

Oh, it's a veritable art fair in there. There's poetry, drawings, lyrics, ornate carvings and sculptures, all dedicated to furthering the primal horniness and homophobia of mankind.

My favorite are the profanities carved into the walls and doors, so painstakingly crafted it seems as if the artist had purposefully chosen the beef fajitas and a whole gallon of gin for lunch, just so he could have enough time later on in the toilet to complete his art.

It's a scene reminiscent of Soho in the seventies, except with maybe even more of a musky, urine smell.
