80's Trivia Revealed
Well, my first weekly 80's trivia challenge must have been pretty good, because nobody got it. Our winner is Martha from Massachusetts, a woman who is the biggest Neil Finn fan I've ever met. She got 3 out of 5 correct.
Here are the five snippets, with the songs they came from.
#1 - Billy Joel "You May Be Right"
#2 - Nik Kershaw "Wouldn't It Be Nice"
#3 - Motels "Take The L Out Of Lover (And It's Over)"
#4 - Jackson Browne "Lawyers In Love"
#5 - Crowded House "Don't Dream It's Over"
Thanks to everybody for playing (and for the kind words on my band). I'll put another challenge up this Friday.

No wonder I couldn't get it. I got one and five no problem, but I never heard of 2, 3 and 4.
Cross, anyone who did not at least attend Kindergarden in the 80's is excused from competition. I'll try and throw in more album rock next time for you, so you can get your Zep/CCR/SRV fix.
And Christine, I love the forgotten hits of the 80's even more than I love the ones that are overplayed as nostalgia now, anyway. I'd rather hear "Wouldn't It Be Good" than "Tainted Love" any day.
I'll go more mainstream for this Friday's picks. Good luck.
Yeah, I was feeling pretty cocky when I got 1 & 2 immediately. That went away quickly with 3 & 4. Luckily I got 5 so I didn't feel like a complete failure.
You couldn't just pick The Motel's "Suddenly Last Summer"?! I should have known you'd use some obscure song no one knows!
Dammit, Kerr!
Yay, go me! I couldn't have done it without the Neil love though......Can't believe I missed #1 now that I know what it is. Never would've even come close on #3.
#3 was impossible, and I know my 80's music!
Well, darlin', it seems that you need to brush up on your 80s if you want to play the game. Pick up some Motels, even a greatest hits CD will do. They had some really good songs. "Suddenly Last Summer", "Take The L", "Mission Of Mercy," and "Only The Lonely" come to mind.
Don't listen to me, though, I pride myself in remembering the "other" songs bands did in the 80s.
